The details

About Microneedling
in Hamilton.

Conventional microneedling creates small punctures in the skin using fine needles. It may be considered for selected texture concerns, fine lines or the appearance of scars after assessment. It does not deliver the radiofrequency heat used by Morpheus8. Understanding that difference helps you compare the purpose, recovery and risk profile of each procedure.

The useful question is not simply whether microneedling can improve skin. It is whether the concern you have, your healing history and the proposed treatment area make it a sensible option. Ask which device will be used and how results will be assessed.

Understand the device and cartridge

The details of a microneedling appointment include the device, treatment area, preparation and the handling of needle cartridges. The FDA advises asking about a new cartridge for each treatment session. Your discussion should also distinguish texture or scar goals from active inflammatory skin problems and explain when the skin can be reassessed. These practical details help you compare treatments beyond a package price.

What you may be looking for

  • An option to assess for selected scars and texture
  • A procedure distinct from RF microneedling
  • Progress can be reviewed across visits

Start with your concern

Concerns to assess before microneedling

  • Selected indented acne scars
  • Uneven texture after appropriate assessment
  • Some fine surface lines

These are discussion points for your assessment, rather than a diagnosis or a promise of results. Compare concerns and treatment options

Understand the treatment

Understand the procedure before you book

A microneedling device makes controlled punctures using small needles to encourage a remodelling response. Ask which device is proposed and how the treatment area and depth are chosen for the concern. Ordinary microneedling does not add the radiofrequency energy used in RF microneedling.

Skin assessment comes before treatment passes. Healing history, infection, medicines and active inflammatory lesions may affect suitability, and more than one visit may be discussed.

Your goals, your options

Is this treatment
a fit for you?

Discuss active infection or inflammatory lesions, healing problems, cold sores, medicines and sensitivity to numbing products. Suitability should be established before choosing a package.

Individual suitability, expected results and treatment options are discussed at your consultation.

Good questions

A little more
clarity.

Is microneedling the same as Morpheus8?

No. Morpheus8 combines needle delivery with radiofrequency energy. Conventional microneedling and RF microneedling have different treatment effects and risks.

How long will my skin look red?

Redness and sensitivity vary with your skin and procedure. Ask for a range based on the proposed treatment; schedule with room for recovery.

Can I have it during a breakout?

Active inflammatory lesions or infection may require deferral or a different approach. Describe your current skin state rather than booking based only on old acne scars.

Will one session remove acne scars?

No single treatment can promise scar removal. Ask which scar types are being addressed, what degree of improvement is plausible and when the plan will be reviewed.

Should a new needle cartridge be used at every microneedling appointment?

The FDA recommends a new needle cartridge for each patient and each treatment session, including repeat sessions for the same person, because cartridge reuse can spread infection. Ask how the device’s reusable components are cleaned according to its instructions as well.

What if I take a blood thinner or have a bleeding disorder?

Disclose that history before scheduling. Microneedling can cause bleeding, and the FDA notes it may be unsuitable for people with bleeding or clotting disorders or those taking blood-thinning medicines. The provider and your prescriber should assess the situation; do not stop prescribed medication to prepare on your own.
